Option to show store codes in your list of GMB accounts#128

It’s hard to tell accouts from each other when the photo icons and names are the same. This happens when looking after GMBs for one single business but with several physical locations, they will usually have the same name and same logo image.

Hi Camille,

Using their API (what we use to communicate with Google) these are some of the extra fields that they return:

  • placeId (looks like ChIJx7CqUfwwUBMReGBoxzfEXl0 which doesn’t seem that useful)

  • address (looks like {“regionCode”=>”AL”, “languageCode”=>”sq”, “postalCode”=>”1019”, “locality”=>”Tirane”, “addressLines”=>[“Rr. Sami Frasheri”, “Pallati 39. Kati 2. Apt.6”]})

We can automatically append the address line to the location name when showing them within Publer.

For some users who have had the same problem, we have manually changed the names of the locations within Publer to help them figure out which location is which. We can do the same for you.

Another solution would be to allow users to manually update the name within Publer.

Let me know what you think :)

What about the ability to rename any account…. that can be done locally… for example My business is called Pink Caviar Events… we hae 2 offices… one in the CBD and one in the Hills Disctrict. It would be cool to be able to rename ANY account to (for example) PC - CBD, PC - Hills District. I also work for a company with 3 locations so one could be DS Sydney DS Melboune DS Brisbane.

I agree with Camille it is hard to distuingish especially for GMB.

I als orealisesd that Publer suggest to change any account manually :)

Even if we give you the option to manually change the name, you will still have a hard time figuring out which location is which at first (unless you manually publish something).

So the best solution I believe should be the following:

  • Return “location name - location address” as the default social account name i.e. Pink Caviar Events - 5 Olivia Cl, Kellyville NSW 2155, Australia

  • Give you the option to manually change the social account name

This way you will know right away which location is which and you can change the name accordingly without any confussion.

We have a deal?

This is now Live!

When adding a new Google My Business location, we will now use the location name + the location address as the account name.

This can be manually changed to anything you want by going to Accounts -> GMB location -> Edit Profile as shown below. You will be able to change the account’s name and the account’s profile picture.

For already added GMB locations, you can click on the “Sync Data” button in order update the account’s name with the location’s address.

Thank you for your patience and we hope you enjoy this little update :)

Hey peeps just thought I would mention that while this new feature works, if you hit recent data than a race is the name that you created. So if there’s a way to keep the name that you have manually replaced it with it may be a nice option #keepupthegoodwork

This is by design, mostly for the already added GMB locations.

Let’s say you’ve already added 3 locations with the same name. The only way to figure our which one is which, is by either:

  • Removing & readding the locations or
  • Posting something in at least 2 of the locations

By syncing data none of the above is nessecary as the name of the location will be updated with the location’s address.
