Image Compression#130

When taking photos on your phone or on a DSLR, I understand there are limits to file size but most modern smart phone are takign bigger and bigger photos. Sometimes I am on my phone and take a photo to upload to socialmedia BUT it may say 5MB limit but the image is 7MB. Is there a way for publer to use the phone/desktop to compress the images to a size that is allowed, I understand an app for iPhone/Android would help with this to auto compress/rescale but is there a web based solution to eliminate this step?

We’re actually compressing images in the background for other reasons (bandwidth & storage), but we don’t do it right away in order to make uploads faster.

But your point is valid. I will assign this to one of the devs. It’s a very easy task. We simply need to change the order we’re doing things.

Shoot us with your 1 TB jpeg files haha. That was funny.

This is now in production. Simply upload your images, as big as they are, and they will automagically work.

Since it was Friday, we wanted a break from the whole Instagram headache. So thank you for this :)

We’re ready to get back to the Instagram integration first thing Monday morning.
